OPTION 1, THE EASIEST AND FASTEST WAY

COMING BY MINIVAN FROM BANGKOK ANUTSAWARI (Victory Monument)

Coming from nearby Kaosan Road area or anywhere in Bangkok, there is now a new way to come here directly from Bangkok by mini-van and get dropped just in front of the doors of Roots:

The Van Station is located in front of one of the entrance (right next to KFC) of a small department store called Century Movie Plaza, 100m south of Anutsawari roundabout, just below the Skytrain (aka BTS) Station "Anutsawari"

Depending where you are in Bangkok, you should take a taxi or the BTS to Anutsawari (Victory Monument). You could print the map "A" to make it easier but that shouldn't be necessary.

By Taxi, get the driver to call this number:

and somebody at the station will tell him how to come. There are several Van stations in the area, and some are more expensive or don't push all the way to where we are, so if you don't call, make sure that the taxi drops you at the Anutsawari BTS station.
(taxi fare from Kaosan Road should be from 50 to 100 baht)

If you're coming by Skytrain, the Mini-Bus terminal is right below the Anutsawari station, at the entrance of the Century department store (100m south of the Anutsawari round-about)

Once you reached the counter, say you are going to Roots Reggae Guesthouse in Had Mae Ramphung, they should know where to drop you, but just in case you should print the map in thai below.

Fare is 200 baht a head, but the driver has the right to charge an additional fee of up to 160 baht per person if you have luggage that he can't fit in the (flat) trunk while the van is full.

Map B

Vans from Bangkok to Rayong leave every 40 minutes.

It is advised that you print this map (Map B) to show it to the driver so that he can stop the car at the correct location.

Nevertheless the destination is Moo Ban Mittapap on Had Mae Lampeung. In case you can't communicate with the driver call 089 235 42 61.

(Returning to Bangkok from Rayong, vans come to pick you up in from of the hotel and bring you back to bangkok)

OPTION 2, COMING WITH THE LINE BUS

COMING WITH THE LINE BUS FROM EKKAMAI BUS STATION BANGKOK:

Take the bus at Ekkamai Bus Station in Bangkok. A ticket for Rayong costs about 166 Baht (that price increases regularly, don't be shocked...). Dont follow salesmen there, they'd bring you to a bus that takes 5 hours to come, going through Pattaya. The correct counter to buy the ticket is a small wooden booth located just outside of the main entrance, on the right hand side. Don't take the bus that passes through Pattaya. (see map 1)

RAYONG BUS STATION:

(coming from the new airport SUVARNABHUMI, you have to reach the Airport's bus terminal (2km) by taxi and take a bus to rayong (every 3 hours, fare is 140 Baht and increasing) and in case there's no more bus take a bus to Bangkok Ekkamai to take the Bangkok Rayong (details above)

At Rayong bus station, take a taxi (song taew) for the destination Had Mae Lampeung at the location 3. fare is 20 baht per person until 18h30, and you have to rent a car for 200 to 250 after that time (no matter the number of passengers) see map 2

Address is: Roots Reggae House, Hin Dam (Moo Ban Mittapa), Had Mae Rampeung, Rayong.
Coming by car, know that Had Mae Rampeung is a beach between Rayong and BanPae (Ko Samet).
Juste take the Sukhumvit road and at 10 Km from Rayong or 8 Km from BanPae, you will find a market called Tapong. (Once again, with the pring of MAP 3 you can reach easily by showing the map around... )There, you will see signs directing you to Mae Rampeung beach. When you reach the beach road, continue 2 kilometers and you will see a group of townhouses called Moo Ban Mittapa (or Hin Dam). You reached. Once again you should print the map in Thai above to show it on your way and make your life easier.
